The Debate in Wonderland by Dr. Nagoya
In a land of neon dreams and talking cats,
Two men did meet and argue, at odds,
One a rabbit, sleek and sharp as a knife,
The other a bear, fierce and full of life.
The rabbit, with words as smooth as cream,
Spoke of policies that favored the team
Of those who had wealth and power in hand,
While the bear, with growls and grunts, did demand
Equality for all, a fair share for the poor,
The rabbit scoffed and said, "That's a bore,
We must focus on growth and profit, you see,
For that is the key to prosperity."
The bear roared in anger, "Growth for whom?
The rich get richer while the rest just gloom?
No, we must redistribute the wealth,
For true progress is measured by the health
Of all, not just the elite, do you not see?
But the rabbit just laughed and said, “You’re a dreamer,”
The market knows best, let it do its work,
Your policies will only lead to a smirk.”
And so they went on, back and forth,
Each trying to prove their worth,
But as the argument heated, the sky grew dark,
And the words became twisted, like a twisted shark.
The rabbit spoke of numbers and data,
But the bear saw only a hollow agenda,
The bear spoke of justice and rights,
But the rabbit saw only fanciful flights.
And so they continued, until the end,
Neither able to comprehend,
The other’s point of view,
And the neon dreams turned into a hazy blue.
For in this land of confusion and confusion,
Where logic and reason are but an illusion,
It’s hard to know what is right,
And the argument, like the rabbit and bear, takes flight.
